Fathers Health was created by Dr. Andrew Howlett to support men through every stage of fatherhood—from preparing to become a dad to sustaining well-being across the lifespan.

This site explores the physical, mental, and relational dimensions of men’s health, with an emphasis on health promotion, longevity, and legacy.
Whether you’re planning for fatherhood, navigating its challenges, or reflecting on the impact you hope to leave behind, Fathers Health offers trusted, evidence-informed guidance to help you lead with strength, compassion, and purpose.
Early in his career, he began asking a simple question: Where are the fathers? Too often, they were absent from conversations about their children’s and families’ health.
That question shaped his work. Alongside efforts to better engage fathers in family health care, Dr. Howlett helped establish Canada’s first Fathers’ Mental Health Service, focused on supporting expectant and new fathers. His work as an award-winning advocate and educator continues to centre the role fathers play in the health of their families—and themselves.
Dr. Andrew Howlett is a psychiatrist and Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, with over a decade of experience in child, adolescent, and family mental health.
